The Seven Appearances of Jesus after the Resurrection: #7 A Strong Driving Wind

By Fr. Ron Will

A Special Note and Request: The coronavirus continues to cause a lot of emotional and spiritual stress for many of you. We are still not able to invite people on to the Renewal Center campus at this time because of the virus, but we wonder: Is there anything that you would like us to offer you on line or through social media? We are here to serve you. Please let us know through email, Facebook or phone calls what could be helpful for you.

Next Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, so today we will visit Jerusalem along with the apostles and experience the coming of the Holy Spirit to ourselves.

As our churches and businesses are gradually opening, we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to make good decisions about our next steps, so let’s invite a personal encounter with that Holy Spirit during this prayer time.

Let’s enter into this contemplative prayer by sitting up straight in our chair. Relax. Let go of any distractions, intentions. Let go of anything on your to-do list for today. Set it aside for now

Take a few deep breaths. Breathe in the new life of spring, of Easter, and of Pentecost. Breathe out any negative thoughts, any anxieties about yourself or about your loved ones or about our world.

I invite you to enter more deeply into our meditation by prayerfully singing along or simply listening:

There is a longing in my heart for you, oh Lord, to reveal yourself to me.
There is a longing in my heart for love, I only find in you, my God.

As I read from the Acts of the Apostles 2:1-11, I invite you to close your eyes and visualize the action in your mind’s eye.

Then Peter stood up with The Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed to them, “Let this be known to you … and listen to my words …”
