What do you feed hungry guests while they wait for the turkey or ham to be ready or while they’re watching the game on TV? A crusty loaf of bread and this dipping sauce is the go-to favorite in my house.
It’s easy to whip together and you very likely have all the ingredients in your pantry already. If you are not a bread baker yourself, pick up an artisan loaf at you local bakery. This is a stand-alone snack or a great accompaniment for a charcuterie board.
Festive Dipping Sauce — Ingredient list
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp dried oregano
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp crushed red chili flakes
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste.
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (or asiago or pecorino romano if you prefer)
1/2-3/4 cup good olive oil
Read Colossians 3:12-17
Loving God,
We thank you for the goodness of our people,
the blessing of our community,
for the spirit of justice, peace, and equality that seeks
to draw all people near in the Bood of Christ.
We thank you for the beauty and fullness of the land,
and we thank you for the challenges we face
and the strength to meet those challenges
with courageous and compassionate hearts.
We thank you for our work, our ministry and our rest,
for each other, for our families and friends,
for our health and our homes.
Keep us ever mindful of those who lack the necessities of life,
make us generous in our sharing all that we have.
Be with those who are fearful about their future,
for those without sufficient warmth, food and friendship.
We pray and give thanks through Jesus Christ our Lord.

An Assembling God’s Puzzle video
By Fr. Garry Richmeier, C.PP.S.
Using threats, shame and guilt to gain another’s cooperation is expedient but ineffective over the long-run. On the other hand, inviting someone to join us in a common work or goal, respects the other, is more constructive and more often results in substantive and long-lasting change.
During November, we celebrate those who have gone before us, our ancestors upon whose shoulders we stand. We celebrate the Feast of All Saints, All Souls Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving Day. We remember their positive influence on our lives.
