Today’s word is “love.” All of scripture can be summarized as: God is Love. Nothing I can do will make God love me more or love me less. The love of God changes us. It frees us. It is a personal love. I am a beloved son or daughter of God. Let that sink in today!

The Holy Spirit works like the hand in a glove. The glove cannot do anything by itself, but with my hand in it, it can do many things. Not the glove, but the hand in the glove does the work. /we are gloves for the hand of the Holy Sprit.

When I was pastor of St Francis Xavier Parish in St. Joseph, Missouri, I fell in love with the designs in the stained-glass windows of the church. It spoke very powerfully to me as a symbol of God’s waiting, arms open to embrace us. God wants to embrace you.
